Prototype Diameter PropBlur Project
_To date, our PropBlurs have been based on average propeller diameters:
|
_Original PropBlurs
1/72nd=0.92" and 1/48th=1.375"- Radius - tip to tip |
_On Hub
1/144th=0.92"Dia; 1/72nd=1.9"Dia; 1/48th=2.85"Dia; "1/72nd" Gamer=1.5"Dia. |
_Below is a work in progress by Kirby Miller (Commander, PropBlur Volunteer Research Group - PVR Group).
The PVR Group has compiled the list below. This is a list of airplanes we are considering for the upcoming Specific Scale Diameter PropBlurs. Next step is to research the prototype propeller diameters for each of these airplanes. Once that data is compiled and confirmed, we will look to group planes with common propeller diameters, while staying very close to true scale PropBlurs. Grouping is necessary to make this product work as a financial effort, but we will try to keep compromise to true diameter minimum.
Once diameter groups are identified, we will begin production of Specific Scale Diameter PropBlurs.
The first SSD PropBlur item will be a 2.25" diameter On-Hub 1/72nd PropBlur for Kirby to use in his EP-3 presentation model.
If anyone has great, accurate reference info for these propeller diameters, please help us, and cite references. THANK YOU!
THE LIST BELOW TARGETS 1/72nd scale - we will address 1/48th and 1/144th scales after 1/72nd
